Logo Design & WordPress Theme Design for a travel blog – Travel Notes

Friday, February 8th, 2008

wordpress_theme_design.jpg Design General created the corporate identity and the WordPress theme for the Travel Notes blog. The blog has articles written in romanian language so far, but an english version it will be launched pretty soon. If you’re passionate about travel, you should go ahead and register and tell us about your travel stories.

We went for a clean web 2.0 WordPress theme design. The site is still in beta mode, new design elements and travel pictures it will be added.

Web 2.0 Layout Design & Valid XHTML Strict Coding [singlepic id="6" w="150" h="125" mode="" float="left" ]

Cash4u.com is a new challenge for Design General. I had to design few CSS table-less skins for this site, keeping in mind the ‘fast loading site’ request. This site had to be designed using just 4-5 images to keep the number of http requests to a low level. Also, I’ve optimized the used images to be lightweight and used CSS sprites technique to display them. The site was tested in all major browsers to ensure it offers a good experience for each visitor no matter what browser is using.

The results are great…the demo-site is loading really fast and is valid XHTML 1.0 strict. The website is going to be up to the latest web standards from both a design and coding point of view. I can call it a web 2.0 design. What do you think?
